Just before Thanksgiving, Gov. Josh Shapiro made a surprise announcement that may negatively impact all Pennsylvanians’ energy bills.

His administration announced plans to appeal the Commonwealth Court ruling that blocked Pennsylvania from joining the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI).

The Court ruled that the RGGI program is an illegal energy tax. Yet, the Shapiro administration is determined to revive this tax—just before winter hits and energy costs skyrocket.

Shapiro needs to hear from you now: appealing the RGGI court decision will hurt hardworking Pennsylvanians!

As a candidate, Shapiro said he had “real concerns about the impact [RGGI] will have on consumer prices, hurting families.” Now, he’s trying to save the price-hiking program.

Shapiro’s RGGI appeal couldn’t come at a worse time. Energy costs are already high. Temperatures are dropping. The coldest months of the year are approaching.

Shapiro promised to explore affordable energy options and unleash our state’s natural resources. But he’s doing the complete opposite: pushing to revive a radical policy that will increase energy prices by as much as 30 percent.

Please send a message to Shapiro now! Tell him to keep Pennsylvania out of RGGI.
