This Colorado Gives Day, residents statewide are supporting the nonprofits that uplift our communities. I humbly invite you to support Beautifully Broken and provide access to art therapy for women and girls healing from trauma in the Denver metro area.

My name is Sandy, and eight years ago I founded my non-profit, Beautifully Broken, to support women who have experienced trauma, through art therapy. In 2023, we hosted a record 300 healing group sessions at halfway houses and women’s shelters in the Denver Metro area.

By combining mindfulness practices with art, we offer therapeutic experiences where women who have experienced trauma, abuse, addiction, incarceration, and homelessness can safely unwind, create, and heal in the presence of a non-judgemental community that celebrates their wholeness.

One such woman is Chelsea. Her struggle with addiction threatened to take her daughter, her health…and her life. She had lost hope when she found Beautifully Broken.

“My life changed when I had contact with Sandy at Beautifully Broken. She stepped in and helped me in so many ways. My entire life has changed. I went from homeless to living in a sober living house, I work a full-time job and my daughter is back in my life. I love Beautifully Broken so much and am forever thankful - you saved my life.”

Sometimes, a crack in our foundation shatters us. Sometimes, being broken is an invitation to build ourselves back up, even more beautifully. Compassionate people like you, who understand survival is an art form, can ensure women like Chelsea have the chance to heal.
