Indivisibles,
This past weekend, while a lot of attention was focused on the fallout
from George Santos’ expulsion, Indivisibles were busy putting a spotlight
on another Unrepresentative^1 who is still in Congress and still advancing
the MAGA agenda.

These awesome activists showed up in the rain to protest outside a
closed-door fundraiser for their Unrepresentative, Mike Lawler. While he
likes to tell his constituents he's a common sense moderate, Lawler was
spending his Sunday at a fundraiser hosted by a former Trump advisor and
headlined by Mike Johnson, the far-right extremist he helped make Speaker
of the House.
If you need a quick refresher, the Unrepresentatives are 18 17 Republican
Members of Congress who represent districts that Biden won in 2020. While
they come from a wide array of districts, they’re all following a similar
playbook to get re-elected:
1. Raise a ton of money from right-wing donors
2. Vote the way these donors want
3. Fool their constituents into believing they have nothing to do with
MAGA extremists
That’s exactly what Lawler was trying to do on Sunday before his own
constituents got in the way. And it’s become a bit of a pattern. Earlier
this year, Indivisibles in NY-17 protested at another Lawler fundraiser
that was headlined by Kevin McCarthy (remember him?). Whether it’s through
protests or letters to the editor or other creative organizing, these
Indivisibles have been consistently showing up to expose Lawler for his
extremism.
It’s exactly what we need to flip this seat and retake the House. [ [link removed] ]If

While we may know how extreme Mike Lawler really is, he's been doing
everything he can to keep his constituents in the dark. So, they might not
know he voted for an anti-abortion bill that could result in doctors going
to prison for providing reproductive care.^2
They might have missed the time he voted to slash 30% of funding for
programs his constituents rely on like federal K-12 funds, Head Start,
Meals on Wheels, and SNAP.^3
And they would be forgiven if they didn’t know that Lawler gleefully voted
to make Mike Johnson the most far-right speaker in modern history.
Lawler's constituents should know that he helped elevate an extremist who
supports a national abortion ban, was the architect of the plan to
overturn the 2020 election in Congress, and led the charge to slash
funding for Social Security and Medicare. They should know this extremist
is so fond of Lawler that he’s willing to raise big bucks to keep him in
Congress.
Is it because of his charm? Or because Johnson knows Lawler will be
dependable vote when it comes to passing MAGA policies?
The people of NY-17 voted for Biden by over 10 percentage points. The
Lawler/Johnson agenda is clearly not the kind of representation they want
or deserve. The good news is, Lawler was only elected by 0.63 percentage
points. If we keep beating the drum and exposing where his loyalties lie,
we can flip this seat. But we need your support to make it happen. [ [link removed] ]If

One Unrepresentative has already been removed from office, and
Indivisibles are showing up rain or shine so voters will be ready to flip
the other seats -- and the House -- next November. We have momentum on our
side, so let’s keep this energy going and finish the year strong.
In solidarity,
Indivisible Team
