John, as an English teacher, I’m always reminding my students about their deadlines for readings, essays, and other assignments.
Now, I’m reaching out about my campaign’s most important deadline yet: the Filing Deadline.
In order to get on the ballot next year, I have to pay the filing fee by December 8. For people like my opponent, political insider Kevin McCarthy, the filing process doesn’t pose any challenges.
For me, a public school teacher fighting to counter historic poverty, expand healthcare access, and protect reproductive rights in our district, the path to the ballot looks very different.
Marisa Wood is a public school teacher, mother and grandmother, and she has spent her last 20 years serving the Bakersfield Community that she calls home.
Marisa knows that this district – and all of its families – deserve someone fighting for them in Washington, not a career politician who cares about his rich donors and fighting partisan battles.
