This day will stand out in the history of the Law Foundation. We have received a generous gift of $3.4 million from philanthropist MacKenzie Scott!
Each year Ms. Scott selects a handful of organizations for these special, one-time gifts. Recipients are selected through a rigorous "quiet research" process. The Law Foundation is deeply honored to have been chosen.
This donation stands as a testament to the strength of our team, our valued partnerships, and the significant impact we've made in promoting social justice. It honors our clients and their families who trust us to serve and advocate alongside them. And, it marks the single largest contribution in our organization's history.
This gift coincides with two key milestones for the Law Foundation—our upcoming 50th anniversary and the commencement of our strategic planning process in 2024. This plan will guide the thoughtful use of Ms. Scott's contribution to accelerate our efforts in advancing equity and justice for low-income individuals and communities of color.
