I've done a lot of thinking and reflecting since the events in Dayton and El Paso this weekend. Not just about the tragic loss of life, but about the collective trauma we've all been feeling every single time we turn on the news to another mass shooting.
It's clear that we need to heal, but we can only heal together.
Democrats and Republicans. People of all races, creeds and genders. It's time to come together to find solutions. Click here to add your name to join the call for unity. ([link removed])
We also cannot forget about self-care in times like these. We have to make sure we take care of ourselves as we continue in this fight. Here are a few of the techniques that I use.
* Take a break from TV and social media
* Try Andrew Weil 4-7-8 breathing/meditation technique (Read more here ([link removed]) )
* Workout, physical activity can increase endorphins and make us feel better
* Hang out with friends and loved ones
Please share and check in on friends and families that might be triggered by recent events and the news.
It's easy to lose sight of one another in our busy world, but now more than ever we need to take the time to come together to heal, find solutions, and take action. Our children, their children, and all future generations are counting on us to fix this now.
