The battle to fix the broken family law system continues with the public hearings for the Joint Select Committee on Australia's Family Law System taking place in Townsville, Rockhampton, Brisbane and Sydney.
The inquiry is the most thorough in decades into the impact of the legal system on families enduring breakup and in particular those involving the custody of children.
The evidence collected during these public hearings will be crucial in the creation of a balanced family law system that supports both parents and create outcomes that benefit the children as they go through the difficulties of separation.
We know these cases are taking up to four years to come to an end, ruining lives, putting careers on hold, and particularly harming the kids, and these problems need to be fixed.
As Deputy Chair of the inquiry, Senator Hanson is working hard to ensure that everyday Aussies have a chance to tell the parliament the true stories of their suffering at the hands of our broken family law system.
