Hello John
We are ordinary people, standing together to take necessary action in a time of crisis. More than 180 actions took place in November alone. Here is a just a small snapshot of what we've been up to.

We believe in each other. Community assemblies make room for open discussion and fair decision making. There are already 20 happening across the UK. The Assembly above was organised by XR Haringey, supported by many local community groups and attended by 100 people.
|
Empty shoes for lost lives. XR Families placed children's shoes on the steps of Trafalgar Square to represent all the young lives lost in the ongoing fighting in Palestine and Israel. Rebels protested for peace in Sheffield, Birmingham, Brighton, Cambridge and across London.
|
Money Rebellion said no to putting short-term profits over a liveable future. Money Rebellion and allies glued doors shut at 50 Barclays branches overnight, including Glasgow, Leeds, Derby, Bath, Lincoln, Guildford and across London.
This is part of a wave of actions directly targeting the real climate criminals. Barclays are the biggest fossil fuel financier in Europe. Since 2016, Barclays has pumped £150 billion into finance for fossil fuels, ignoring advice from the UN and the International Energy Agency.

The third global Mothers Rebellion held circles in 15 UK cities and in 80 countries around the world. The UN Convention of Children’s Rights states that children have the right to a clean, healthy and sustainable environment - worlds away from what they have now. A first time protestor from Bristol said “We sang, the children played, we shouted and we sat quietly. And we got our message across."`

We're not buying it. On Black Friday, rebels in Manchester were outside Amazon HQ as part of the Make Amazon Pay coalition. XR Cambridge, Friends of the Earth and Global Justice Cambridge created a mobile exhibition linking the climate crisis, consumption and the cost-of-living crisis. And Reading got a rebrand, pictured above.

We said no to paying for pollution. The Don’t Pay For Dirty Water campaign will see thousands of us withhold payment of the sewerage charge portion of our bills until water companies and the Government stop poisoning our seas and rivers, killing our ecosystems and making us sick. It's a risk-free way to assert your power. Learn more below.

Hundreds of people demonstrated outside courts across the UK against the abuse of power of judges who are restricting defendants' and jurors' rights, limiting what can be said in trials. People face prison just for mentioning climate change and fuel poverty in court. A protestor in Croydon said “Judges have a duty to let our juries hear the whole truth and let them reach a fair and true verdict without judicial interference.”
|
We stood up against industries that are harming us. XR Waverley and Borders rebels blocked the main gate at Farnborough Airport, demanding an end to private jets. And we disrupted the Telford Arms fair, where the UK knowingly sells arms to nations involved in armed conflict and human rights abuses.
|
We finished the month with a bang. The last weekend of the month has been a growing focal point for actions. November ended with a busy weekend including 'Unite to Survive' in Brighton, where the local XR group hosted with Greenpeace, Christian Climate Action, Unite, Parents for the future, and many others. Rebels in London exposed toxic air pollution three times over WHO limits, and in Bewdley, rebels led outreach on water pollution...To name a few of the 50 actions that happened over the weekend.
