Dear John,

WE EXCEEDED OUR £20,000 TARGET THROUGH THE BIG GIVE CHRISTMAS
CHALLENGE!

I am delighted to announce that we have exceeded our £20,000 fundraising
target through The Big Give Christmas Challenge. What's more, we reached
our fundraising goal in just 3 days, within 56 hours of the appeal going
live. Wow!

The Big Give Christmas Challenge is now complete and we raised £22,204 in
total, 111% of our initial fundraising target. This means that we have
secured funds for our exciting overseas events at the start of 2024. If you
were unable to donate to The Big Give Christmas Challenge over the last
seven days you can still contribute to Population Matters' vital work by
donating through our website directly [3]. There are also additional ways
you can support us this festive season [4].

The £22,204 raised through The Big Give appeal will help fund three major
campaign events next year! These include:

Population Conversation: Nigeria 2024

We will host this event in February in Abuja, Nigeria's capital city. We
will bring together local and regional stakeholders to open up the
Population Conversation and move population up the agenda in both Nigeria
and regionally.

UN Commission on Status of Women

Last year, Population Matters spoke at this important event and we will
have plenty to add this year too. Taking place at the UN headquarters in
New York City, Population Matters will be in attendance in March 2024.

UN Commission on Population and Development

We will be back at the UN at the end of April / start of May for this key
Commission. As the leading global charity campaigning on our human
population, Population Matters has a lot to offer the Commission and a lot
to say to our fellow delegates.

The relationships fostered internationally, both on the ground in Nigeria
and at the highest levels of international diplomacy at the UN will help us
to elevate and spread our message to effect positive change globally. We
are certainly going to have a very busy start to the new year!

On behalf of the entire team, please accept our thanks for supporting
Population Matters this year. We are truly grateful for any donation you
can make.

Wishing you all the very best for the new year,

Anthony Howarth
