Honor those we’ve lost to lung disease.

It’s been almost four years since we lost my husband, Rob, to lung cancer. He never lost
hope, and he was always grateful for a chance to inspire others. That’s why we got
involved at our local American Lung Association LUNG FORCE walk.

In 2019, Rob was asked to give a closing speech at the walk. Rob said, “I’m thankful for
each day I get a chance to keep battling, to do the simple things in life, like take my dog
for a walk, go to dinner with family, even squeeze in the occasional round of golf, and of
course, to attend inspiring events like this one.”

I want to extend that gratitude to everyone supporting the Lung Association.
Because of you, more people can do the “simple things” that Rob loved. I especially want
to thank those like me who give to honor someone they’ve lost to these terrible diseases.

Right now, we can make our gifts go even further: The Marilyn Brachman Hoffman Foundation is matching all
gifts, up to $105,000, through the end of the year. Will you join me to commit to ending
lung cancer and lung disease, then give what you can to support the American Lung Association?

It would have been easy for Rob to abandon hope, but he looked at me and said, “We are
going to fight.” Even as his cancer progressed, he would tell me he wasn’t going to give in
-- and neither should I. I take Rob’s message of hope with me every day as I proudly
support the American Lung Association, because warriors never quit. We will always
have hope that we will win the battle against lung cancer and lung disease.

If you are reading this email right now, you share that same hope. Your generous gifts will
continue to honor Rob and all those who have battled or who are still battling lung cancer and lung disease. So, thank you for giving whatever you can to help us honor their memory together.
