It’s World Wildlife Conservation Day, folks! Today, I want to bring awareness to my Recovering America's Wildlife Act (RAWA). The RAWA would be the most significant conservation law since the Endangered Species Act of 1973, funding conservation efforts for more than 12,000 species of wildlife and plants. Here’s the issue: Once a species is classified as endangered, it’s often too late to bring back the robust numbers needed to save them from extinction. The RAWA is a proactive approach that will keep them off the endangered list in the first place — providing states, territories, and tribal nations with the resources needed to fund wildlife conservation efforts. Our climate and environment have changed dramatically since we passed the Endangered Species Act 50 years ago. The RAWA will renew our investment in wildlife conservation by meeting the demands of the present.
Together, we can allow future generations to appreciate an abundance of wildlife. Thank you for your support. — Martin |
