Thursday, March 12, 2020 - BREATHE LA
Hi John,

I hope this message finds you well. By now we are all carefully following the news about the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19) and as the world is grappling with an issue of enormous scale and human impact, our hearts go out to all who have been affected. The health and safety of our friends, supporters, and volunteers, as always, are the highest priority. That is why, effective immediately, we have made the difficult yet necessary decision to postpone the following planned in-person events until further notice.

  • Lung Power Day at the La Brea Tar Pits (3/21)
  • Trudeau Society’s Annual Samuel J. Sills, M.D. Lecture (3/31)
  • Breath of Life® Awards Gala (4/23)

At BREATHE California of Los Angeles County, we believe it is our role and responsibility during this time to prioritize two things: the health and well-being of those served by our programs, our employees, volunteers and the community at large. As an organization focused on promoting lung health, we are especially sensitive to the concerns around COVID-19 on the communities and individuals we serve across Southern California: underserved seniors, children and families, many immunocompromised with lung illnesses. We will be ready to do everything that we can to make sure that they receive the support they need.

The current environment continues to present unprecedented situations for us all. As we navigate the challenges posed by the coronavirus (COVID-19), we will continue to monitor the guidance of local, state and federal officials in determining our next steps. We will continue to keep you informed of additional changes, including the rescheduling of postponed events.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at [email protected] and visit our website https://www.breathela.org/ for all the latest information and updates.
