highlights, and updates.
YDA Winter
Meeting

This past
weekend, from December 1st to December 3rd, NJYD leadership headed to
Arlington, Virginia, for the 2023 Young Democrats of America Winter
Meeting.
This
year's program centered on the theme of “All Politics is Local,” where
Young Dems were introduced to Virginia local elected officials and
organizers who emphasized the overwhelming importance of State and
Local elections and offices in our everyday lives and the tremendous
influence they have on shaping America’s political
landscape!
December Young Dem of
the Month

Congratulations to
Sunni Vargas, our December Young Dem of the Month! Sunni's
dedication to environmental protection, grassroots organizing, and
social justice is inspiring. As a first-generation college student at
Monmouth University, Sunni pursued a Bachelor's degree in political
science with a concentration in international relations. Her
involvement with the university's policy debate team and independent
study on Palestinian-Israeli multi-state sustainable and equitable
policy solutions highlights her dedication to policy research,
analysis, and promoting global understanding.
Her involvement as an elected
Democratic County Committeewoman and her roles in several local
Democratic organizations demonstrate her commitment to active
participation in the political landscape. Joining New Jersey LCV was a
natural fit for Sunni, as she sought to be part of a growing
organization with a welcoming culture. Sunni's dedication to educating
others about offshore wind power, green energy, and environmental
policy reflects her passion for creating a sustainable future. She is
determined to build community power and expand environmental justice
in all spaces.
Congratulations again, Sunni! Your unwavering commitment
to environmental protection, grassroots organizing, and social justice
is commendable.

As the 2023 year comes to an end, the New Jersey Young
Democrats would like to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude
to each and every one of you. This year has been a testament to your
unwavering dedication, passion, and hard work.
Without a doubt, our success is a reflection of your
commitment to making a difference. Your tireless efforts have not only
shaped the trajectory of our organization but have also left an
indelible mark on the communities we serve.
We owe the success of this past year to your resilience,
creativity, and collaborative spirit. Your enthusiasm and commitment
have propelled us forward, and it's clear that our impact wouldn't be
as significant without your individual and collective
contributions.
As we look back on the victories we've celebrated, let's
remember that it is your hard work that has been the driving force
behind it all. Thank you for being the heart and soul of our
organization.
Here's to another year of making waves, creating positive
change, and empowering the voices of the future. Happy Holidays and a
wonderful New Year!
