Plus, defending life.   Fighting For Faith, Family & Freedom Monday, December 4, 2023 To: Friends & Supporters From: Gary Bauer Stand With American Values Stand With American Values as we defend Faith, Family and Freedom! Year-end fundraising makes up a huge part of our annual budget, and your support is essential to our success! More importantly, as you will read below, your support has never been more urgently needed. So, please stand with me now when you can DOUBLE your support! Harris & Hamas “Border Czar” Kamala Harris is doing such a great job managing our southern border that the Biden White House decided she’s ready to take over Israel’s borders and tackle the Middle East peace process. Of course, I’m being sarcastic. But Harris is reportedly engaging in “shuttle diplomacy” with Arab leaders during the climate change summit in Dubai. Her remarks are atrociously bad, and should concern us all because Harris is far more representative of the future of the political left than Joe Biden. Harris essentially accused Israel of targeting innocent Palestinians in Gaza. She insisted that “International humanitarian law must be respected. Too many innocent Palestinians have been killed. . . Israel must do more to protect innocent civilians.” Harris added that “Under no circumstances will the United States permit the forced relocation of Palestinians from Gaza or the West Bank, the besiegement of Gaza, or the redrawing of the borders of Gaza.” What is she talking about? Why is she attempting to dictate terms to Israel regarding how it fights the terrorists of Hamas? Imagine if anyone dared to tell us how to fight Al Qaeda! Again, Hamas deliberately positions weapons and fighters among Gaza’s civilians so that when civilians are inevitably killed in combat, the media and politicians like Harris will blame Israel when they should blame Hamas. But there’s more. Looking to the “day after” the war is over, Harris again pushed the idea of a “two-state solution” under a “revitalized Palestinian Authority.” Harris declared: “The Palestinian Authority must be revitalized, driven by the will of the Palestinian people, which will allow them to benefit from the rule of law and a transparent, responsive government. Eventually, this revitalized PA must have the capacity to govern Gaza, as well as the West Bank.” Is she joking?! The Palestinian Authority is thoroughly corrupt and the exact opposite of “transparent, responsive government.” President Mahmoud Abbas is currently in the 18th year of his four-year term, having repeatedly canceled elections ever since he took power. The Palestinian Authority supported the October 7th massacre. Numerous Palestinian officials in the West Bank celebrated the atrocities of October 7th. The Palestinian Authority subsidizes terrorism against innocent Israelis. Its schools are teaching Palestinian children to hate Israel. And it was the “will of the Palestinian people” that resulted in Hamas seizing power in Gaza. Kissinger Was Right In the last interview he gave before his death, former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, who understood diplomacy and world affairs, dismissed the idea of a “two-state solution” and specifically pointed to the situation in Gaza today. He said: “The difficulty of the two-state solution is shown by the experience of Hamas. Gaza was made quasi-independent by [former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel] Sharon in order to test the possibility of a two-state solution. “It has led, in fact, to a much more complex situation. It has become so much worse in the last two years than it [was] in 2005. So, the two-state solution doesn’t guarantee that what we saw in the last weeks won’t happen again.” Kissinger was right! Israel gave Gaza to the Palestinians, who promptly elected Hamas, which is dedicated to the destruction of the Jewish state. Hamas did nothing to promote peace with Israel. It turned Gaza into a launching pad for repeated terrorist attacks and it is promising even more atrocities. Kissinger also suggested that rather than creating another failed, Islamist terrorist state in the Middle East, Jordan should assume responsibility for the Palestinian people. Philly Hate An anti-Semitic mob protested in front of a Jewish restaurant in Philadelphia last night. The mob chanted anti-Semitic slogans and vandalized the restaurant’s windows with pro-Palestinian slogans. According to press reports, no one was arrested. The restaurant was targeted because its owner, Michael Solomonov, is a well-known Jewish chef. He recently donated $100,000 to United Hatzalah, an emergency medical group in Israel. In 2003, Michael’s younger brother, David, was killed by Hezbollah snipers on Yom Kippur. Every day of every week of every month, the left would normally denounce this demonstration as a hate crime. If hateful bigots gathered outside of any other minority-owned business, chanting anti-black, anti-Hispanic or anti-gay slogans, the left would be furious and there would be mass arrests. But so far, all we’ve gotten from local politicians are just words. Words are cheap. They mean nothing. This is raw anti-Semitism of the worst kind. It’s exactly what we saw on the streets of Berlin in 1930s Germany. And if it happened to any other group, the country would be in for a day of reckoning. The Philadelphia police chief would have been fired by now for failing to protect this group or that group. But American Jews are being thrown under the bus. This is the same thing we’re seeing on university campuses. Jews are afraid to go to class. The last time an ethnic group was afraid to go to school, we called out the 101st Airborne Division to escort students to their classrooms! Progressive Hypocrites Rep. Pramila Jayapal, chairwoman of the House Progressive Caucus, went on CNN for what she presumably thought would be a friendly interview. But host Dana Bash stumped her with what should have been an easy question. Asked to respond to the reports of Hamas using rape as a weapon, Jayapal stumbled into “whataboutism” and complaints about the Israeli government, saying, “I think we have to be balanced about bringing in the outrages against Palestinians.” Bash pushed back. “I was just asking about the women, and you turned it back to Israel. I’m asking you about Hamas. . . You don’t see Israeli soldiers raping Palestinian women,” she said to the congresswoman. Jayapal answered, “I don’t want this to be the hierarchies of oppressions.” Well, “hierarchies of oppression” is what the left is all about! Jayapal’s response is disgusting but very revealing. The #MeToo movement insisted that all women must be believed. But apparently not if you’re an Israeli or Jewish woman. It is unconscionable that any member of Congress would try to downplay the rape of Jewish women and girls. Those suggesting there is no proof of the mass rapes of Israeli women are ignoring the dead bodies. Forensic experts examined them and determined that they were raped in every way imaginable before and, in some cases, after they were killed. Every leader of a feminist group who has not condemned Hamas should be shamed into resigning. Any female progressive politician who refuses to condemn Hamas should be called out for the blatant hypocrites they are. Feminism is nothing but a political weapon for them if they won’t condemn the rapes of Israeli women and girls. Do they think it is okay to rape women and girls because the Israeli government did something they didn’t like? Sadly, this is more evidence of the festering anti-Semitism on the progressive left. And why aren’t more congressional Republicans speaking out on this issue, challenging women to rethink their loyalty to a movement that plays games with rape? Defending Life There is no question that the pro-life movement is facing a major challenge to defend the sanctity of life in the post-Roe environment. Getting rid of Roe v. Wade was absolutely necessary. But with that goal accomplished, we are clearly on defense as we fend off a slew of pro-abortion ballot initiatives in key states. There is some good news as pro-life forces are working proactively to prevent these ballot measures from advancing. For example, a campaign has been launched in Florida to educate residents of the Sunshine State about the efforts to add a radical pro-abortion amendment to the ballot in November of 2024. A judge in Nevada recently blocked one proposed initiative due to misleading language. Speaking of misleading language, Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin rejected a proposed pro-abortion ballot initiative by “Arkansas For Limited Government.” That kind of deception has been a common practice by the left in many of these pro-abortion ballot initiatives. These are all good and necessary measures. But none of these things will ultimately succeed unless pro-life groups get the funding they need to fight these battles. That’s one reason why your support for American Values is so important! And Christian voters must turn out in large numbers and vote on the teachings of our faith. That’s unlikely to happen unless pastors wake up and start preaching about how our God is the God of life who declared, “I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.” MAKE YOUR TAX DEDUCTIBLE DONATION NOW SHARE VIA SOCIAL MEDIA Share This Email Share This Email Share This Email As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, donations to American Values are tax deductible for federal income tax purposes.
