COVID-19 Update
Dear John,
Like you, we are closely monitoring the spread of the coronavirus in our region. Many of us are making sure we have extra necessities.
However, many of our neighbors cannot afford to buy extra food, stock up on medication, purchase additional cleaning supplies, or make ends meet in the event they are unable to work.
Some state and federal officials expect this crisis to worsen significantly, possibly very quickly. While we are hoping for the best-case scenario, we all must act now to protect those likely to be the most adversely affected in the event it escalates and becomes increasingly difficult for NVFS to deliver services and supplies.

NVFS is closely following the guidance of our local and state health departments as well as city and county governments across the region. At the same time, we are working on longer-term strategies and planning. We are still early in this process and have innumerable considerations still in front us as we prioritize the health, safety and well-being of our employees, volunteers, and clients, while balancing the reality that we are in the midst of a public health crisis and need to respond accordingly.
We are confident the Northern Virginia community is strong, and our network of partner organizations, health services, businesses, donors and supporters will come together as in past crises and ensure impact on our neighbors is mitigated as much as possible.
Thank you in advance for any support you can provide. Please take care of yourselves and those close to you.
With gratitude,
