John,

Given the increased number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Massachusetts reported over the past few days, and the declared Massachusetts state of emergency, we don’t want to put anyone at risk for the sake of our campaign.

Due to the current situation, our campaign has taken the precaution of postponing our campaign kickoff event planned for Wednesday, March 18th. We will be rescheduling the in-person event as soon as it’s safe to do so.

But we still think it’s important to gather together to talk about the work we have ahead of us. Therefore, we will be hosting a virtual event next Wednesday evening—an online video chat with Seth—so that folks can hear about the campaign and the critical work he’s doing representing Massachusetts’ Sixth District. If you would like to come, please sign up here so we can follow up with details. If you had already RSVP’d for the campaign kickoff event, you’re automatically registered for the video chat!

If you were planning on attending the campaign kickoff event in person, we apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding. While we won’t see you in person next week, we hope to see you online, and you can rest assured we will be working around the clock to re-elect Seth with an even greater sense of urgency than before.

We are taking COVID-19 extremely seriously. The Moulton for Congress campaign plans to take decisive action in order to help slow the spread of this virus and make sure people can return as quickly as possible to business—and campaigning—as usual. But safety has to always come first.

Seth is focused on providing leadership for his constituents in Massachusetts’ Sixth District—as well as Americans across the country—during these uncertain times. The current crisis has exposed many of the failings of our government and this administration. From a flawed health care system to our completely inadequate pandemic response efforts, this outbreak should give us some perspective about how much work we have to do together and about how important that work is right now.

We will be sure to keep you updated on when we can reschedule the in-person kickoff event, but we hope you’ll join us next Wednesday for the virtual kickoff event.

Take care,

Matt Chilliak
Campaign Manager
