Weapons of war do not belong on our streets.

Demand Congress act NOW to ban assault weapons.

Friend — Gun violence is an epidemic that is devastating our country. It struck our community a few weeks ago, leaving 1 person dead and 12 others injured in Brownsville. It has also ravaged the communities of Gilroy, California; El Paso, Texas; and Dayton, Ohio.

Violent weapons are all too common on our streets. Assault weapons, like those used in El Paso and Dayton, are meant to inflict as much damage as possible in a short amount of time. In fact, the shooter in Dayton was able to kill 9 people and injure over a dozen more in roughly 30 seconds.

These weapons of war have no place in our society. That’s why we banned assault weapons in the 90’s, and that’s why Yvette co-sponsored legislation that would ban them again. Will you join Yvette in demanding Congress pass a new federal assault weapons ban right now? >>

DEMAND ACTION NOW →

The last federal ban on assault weapons expired 15 years ago, and since then these weapons have wreaked havoc on communities across the country. If we truly want to address gun violence in this country, we have to start by getting these weapons of war off our streets.

A new federal assault weapons ban bill was introduced six months ago, but despite over 190 co-sponsors, Congress has refused to act. Will you show leaders in Washington that Americans are tired of them dragging their feet and demand they pass the assault weapons ban today?
