Using SecureDrop, our open source whistleblower submission platform, a leaker provided over 5,000 pages of documents on Russia's intelligence agencies, including the notorious hacking group Sandworm — allegedly responsible for the shutdown of Ukraine's electrical grid on two occasions, the disruption of the 2018 Winter Olympics, and the catastrophic 2017 NotPetya cyberattack.
More than 50 journalists, representing 11 prestigious news organizations, united their efforts to bring this work to the world. Among them were the German newspaper, with whom the documents were initially shared, as well as The Washington Post, The Guardian, Le Monde, and Der Spiegel.
Your support empowers individuals like the anonymous whistleblower and newsrooms across the world to unveil the truth. Will you donate to Freedom of the Press Foundation so we can continue helping whistleblowers share the information you deserve to know?
