John --

I wanted to take a moment to address something that is heavy on all of our minds.

We’re undergoing a public health crisis with the COVID-19 outbreak, but we are also facing a crisis in leadership on this issue from our current administration.

Thankfully, there are no confirmed cases in our district. But we are going to continue fighting to make sure our families and communities get the resources we need — that includes testing, treatment, and supplies for medical professionals.

As someone who has spent my career working in public health, it’s important that we keep the most vulnerable among us in mind. I’m talking about those who are already sick, the elderly, and low-income families. That’s not just the right thing to do, it’s our best shot at containing this pandemic.

I am proud to see that Democrats in Congress are pushing legislation that will provide emergency paid sick leave, increase unemployment benefits, expand food stamp access, and provide free coronavirus testing. I am hopeful that all parties will move quickly to pass this bill.

Right now, Congress has a responsibility to provide timely and accurate information as we work through this crisis. That’s exactly what I intend to do.

Thank you,

Chris

A note about contributions to our campaign: As we reevaluate the ways we are able to campaign over the next few weeks, it’s clearer than ever that we need to stand behind pro-health and science candidates like Chris Bubser.

We believe it’s important -- right now -- to send a message that we need leaders in Congress with healthcare backgrounds who will reject the cynical anti-science politics coming from the far-right and the far-right left.

If you are able, please make a contribution to support Chris >>
