For many people, when a cold front comes in, it can be easy to just turn up the heat and stay cozy inside. When it’s time to venture out into the cold, a warm coat, mittens or knit hat aren’t out of reach. But for children living in crisis zones this winter, these comforts are nowhere to be found.

Around the world, children who are already navigating the unknowns of displacement and the constant threat of violence are now facing winter conditions. For a child in a refugee camp or a family who was forced to flee their home, a cold front can be deadly.

You can help provide cold-weather essentials and lasting relief to children who are caught in the cold.

Every year, UNICEF mobilizes to ensure that supplies are in position to help protect children ahead of the winter season. This year, as the climate crisis intensifies, children could be up against an even harsher winter than expected.

That means more supplies and more of your support will be required to meet children’s needs. Your gift will make a difference to keep children everywhere — from Afghanistan to Ukraine — warm and protected in the face of every challenging new day.
