Hi there, friend. It's Robert, Debbie's husband.

It's been a busy couple of months here in the Mucarsel-Powell household. But I want to take a moment to step back from it all to tell you a little bit about my wife — and why I know that she's the senator our state deserves.

Debbie has always been a rock for her family and her community. As a young immigrant in America, she worked her way through high school to help her mom pay the bills. After graduating college, she dedicated her life to giving back, a path that led her all the way to Congress. On top of all that, she's a dedicated caretaker for her mother, a devoted mom to our children, and my best friend.

Debbie is one of the kindest, most generous people I've ever met. But don't let that fool you: She's got a backbone of steel. From expanding health care access at Florida International University to flipping a U.S. House seat blue, she's never been afraid of a tough fight.

In short, Debbie represents everything that our leaders should be. Meanwhile, Rick Scott represents everything wrong with Washington — and everything that Debbie has spent her life fighting against. 

Rick Scott oversaw the largest Medicare fraud in HISTORY. He wants to raise taxes on working families, ban abortions nationwide, and end Social Security and Medicare. He's pushed some of the most harmful, anti-democratic, and divisive rhetoric I've ever heard. It's no wonder that Republicans, Independents, and Democrats all don’t like him.

Floridians know that they deserve a leader who understands the real problems facing families; a leader who will never stop fighting for them; a leader like Debbie.

I know that Debbie has what it takes to win this race and create a better future for Florida — the latest polling puts her one point ahead! But to defeat Rick Scott and his seemingly endless personal war-chest, she needs people like you to believe in her, too. So please, will you show Debbie that you're all in to flip Florida blue by rushing a gift before midnight? Every donation truly makes a difference.
