John, this is why we need health care advocates on the state level.

As of today, according to the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services, Montana is reporting one case of COVID-19 but the patient acquired the illness outside of Montana and has not returned to the state since becoming ill.

While the impact is only just beginning here, we can expect that our health care system may be overwhelmed as this pandemic continues to develop. Especially with those who are uninsured. Montana’s four major health insurance companies are helping with coronavirus testing by waiving some costs for copays and deductibles.

As a nurse, I know how important access to health care is. As an attorney, I’ve fought for Montanans to receive the health care and benefits they deserve. As a lawmaker, I've successfully fought for health care in the legislature -- passing Medicaid expansion twice and supporting legislation to hold pharmaceutical companies accountable and keep drug prices down -- and I'll fight for your health care as your Attorney General.

My nursing experience and public health approach to solving problems set me apart from all other candidates in this race and it is vital to fully understand the many layers involved in our health care system and the issues we as communities face.

You can always trust me to advocate for health care access, fight to bring down drug prices, and hold pharmaceutical companies accountable -- as I've done my whole career.

At this time, please be safe and there is no need for panic. To help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses, you can take simple steps to protect yourself and your family by staying home if you're sick, and avoid contact with people who are sick. Make sure to cover your cough and sneezes with the crook of your elbow or a tissue, avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth, and clean and disinfect frequently touched objects using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.

Take care,

Kimberly Dudik

P.S. As we all take precautionary measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, many public events might be canceled. If you'd like to support our campaign in the meantime, please donate here: [link removed] [[link removed]]
