Hello,

The rapid spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) has shown how critical it is that we have competent leadership in our government.

I have already suspended all campaign events and have moved to a digital outreach program to protect our staff and constituents. On the other hand, the White House is just telling people, "Everything will be fine."

And while the Trump administration has failed for months, House Democrats are acting today to make sure Americans are taken care of.

The Families First Coronavirus Response Act will provide new funding for emergency provisions and include paid sick leave, widespread free testing, food aid, and unemployment insurance.

This legislation is essential to keeping our communities safe from an extremely contagious virus and preparing for long-term effects of work cancellations. It is absolutely essential that both chambers of Congress and the White House act urgently to enact it.

We are urging all representatives, senators, and President Trump to pass the Families First Coronavirus Response Act as swiftly as possible. Sign our petition to citizen co-sponsor this vital legislation.

International organizations and governmental bodies all agree that this illness must be met with swift, fierce action. No one should be sitting on the sidelines or taking the severity of the matter lightly.

The time to act is now. Our government must put partisanship aside and protect our people from the dangers of this illness.

If you agree, sign our petition and urge our government to pass the Families First Coronavirus Response Act.

Stay safe,

Eddie Mauro

P.S. It's critical that as we push our government to protect us all, we also take steps as individuals to protect ourselves and each other. Make sure to wash your hands often and thoroughly, limit your exposure to mass gatherings, and cover your face when coughing or sneezing.
