For the first time ever, a major commercial flight has successfully crossed the Atlantic Ocean without the use of fossil fuels!
The Virgin Atlantic Flight with a Boeing 787 journeyed safely from New York City to London, running entirely on sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) that emits 70% less carbon emissions compared to standard jet fuel.
And guess what? SEEC Members Rep. Julia Brownley and Rep. Brad Schneider played a crucial role in this achievement, successfully pushing to include investments in this type of fuel in the Inflation Reduction Act!
