My name is Levar Stoney, and I’m running for Governor of Virginia.
Having grown up in a poor family, I get it. I understand the struggles many Virginia families face. From parents worrying about their child’s education to folks struggling to put food on the table – your quality of life shouldn’t be based on your zip code.
I’m running for Governor because we deserve better, and I will fight to ensure every Virginia family has a fair shot at success.
As Mayor of Richmond, I rolled up my sleeves and got to work. We brought our fiscal house in order – allocating historic funding to improve our roads, reducing the City’s poverty rate by 22%, raising pay for our teachers and first responders, and increasing funding for Richmond Public Schools by nearly 50%. We took down Confederate monuments and built new schools. We got right to work and built a thriving Richmond, and I want to do the same for Virginia.
I know there’s no one-size-fits-all solution for our Commonwealth, but I also know we have to do better. It’s going to take hard work, collaboration, and hope. And the right leadership.
Which is why when I’m elected as the next Governor of Virginia, I promise to work tirelessly towards a future we can all be proud of. Gone are the days of just kicking our problems down the road for the next administration. It’s time to face our challenges head on.
