As COVID-19 spreads across the country, we must ensure that our national response includes protections for the most vulnerable. As Speaker Nancy Pelosi said, “We cannot fight coronavirus effectively unless everyone in our country who needs to be tested knows they can get their test free of charge.”

No one should have to choose between staying home sick to protect themselves and putting food on their table. If you agree, call Congress NOW to demand they put in place protections that support American families, like the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, during this unpredictable time.

Our partners at Navigator Research just released a special, emergency report on COVID-19 to assess public perception amidst the outbreak. They found that Americans are acutely aware of and very concerned about the novel coronavirus. Additionally, a majority of people view the outbreak as a major problem, with over 50 percent of Americans believing that the worst is yet to come.

Generally, the public disapproves of the administration’s handling of the growing pandemic. Americans also have specific concerns about the president’s approach, especially when it comes to Trump’s gutting of American preparedness and his silencing of public health officials.

We have to know what we are dealing with and prepare for this crisis. Call on Congress to demand support for families and frontline workers who must be our first priority in this emergency.
