This week, lawmakers are expected to file the compromised version of the fiscal year 2024 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) after the conference committee finished hashing out differences between the two chambers’ bills. Earlier this year, the House and Senate passed versions of the NDAA that did not include NAFCU-opposed provisions related to interchange or military base leases. The final bill also does not include these provisions.
The House Friday passed a Congressional Review Act (CRA) resolution with bipartisan support to block the CFPB’s rule that would require credit unions and banks to collect demographic data on small businesses that apply for loans, implementing Section 1071 of the Dodd-Frank Act.
