The Rev. Matthew S.C. Olver, Ph.D. shares thoughts at the end of 2023

FROM THE DESK OF THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Dear friend,

It’s only been a few months since I stepped into my new role as executive director and publisher of the Living Church Foundation. I have been a TLC writer and supporter for almost 20 years. But I realize that I have never, until now, fully appreciated all the ways that TLC supports and encourages the Episcopal Church and the wider Anglican Communion.

What gifts do you receive from TLC?
Resources for your parish ministry? Communion news that’s fair-minded and even-handed? Thoughtful theological work from global colleagues and friends? Encouragement for the future and leadership of the Anglican Communion? Support in your devotional life? Meaningful relationships?

With the help of your support ([link removed]) , dear reader, we have been able to serve the current needs of the Anglican Communion this year. Are you willing to help us do what we're called to in 2024?

Many things have changed since a small, weekly paper was founded in the Midwest in 1878. But the heart of TLC’s mission has not changed. With reader support, we have been able to stay true to that original vision of ecumenical, service-oriented communication, and pivot to the current needs of a complex Communion, through expanded international journalism, theological publishing, an original podcast with strong listenership, and equipping leaders with resources and relationships.

Like many of you, we do a lot with a little. Donate now to the Living Church to keep our dynamic ministry thriving.

We also welcome planned gifts, such as bequests, life insurance, and life income gifts. Email [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]) (or click here ([link removed]) and scroll to "Planned Gifts") to learn more.

While we are “slouching towards Bethlehem,” the fierce love of the Savior pieces our hearts with the ageless truth that we encounter as if for the first time: “Behold, I am coming soon.” God bless you in your ministry, and please support us in ours, so that when the Bridegroom returns, we may recognize together the voice which calls us each by name.

In Christ,
The Rev. Matthew S.C. Olver, Ph.D.
Executive Director and Publisher
