The COVID-19 pandemic is a public health crisis that will have ripple effects throughout our communities.
That’s why House Democrats introduced legislation yesterday to guarantee free COVID-19 testing, ensure paid emergency leave for workers, increase Medicaid funding, bolster food security programs like SNAP, and provide other critical support for individuals, families, and communities impacted by this virus.
Republicans are holding up this absolutely essential bill with unnecessary and irresponsible efforts to bar federal funding for abortion. We are experiencing a public health crisis and instead of doing the necessary work to keep American families protected and safe, the GOP is attacking the right of folks to access critical healthcare.
We need everyone reading this email to demand that the House GOP abandon these cruel attacks and support the Families First Coronavirus Response Act — we need to act NOW to address this public health crisis.
This is a moment for our country to come together and do everything we can for the individuals, families, and communities being impacted by COVID-19. Let’s start by passing this critical legislation.
