CAMPAIGN UPDATE
BREAKING NEWS: Lead Pipes Must Be Removed
Under EPA’s Proposed Water Rule!
Just this week, a new rule proposed by
the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) sets the stage for
every lead water pipe in the nation to be replaced — with the
vast majority expected to be removed in the next 10 years.
Lead-contaminated drinking water has
disproportionately burdened low-income communities of color like
Flint, Michigan, and Newark, New Jersey, whose water crises made
it impossible to ignore the reality of unequal access to safe
water. More than 9 million homes nationwide are served by a lead
water pipe — now is the time to end this public health crisis.
This Lead and Copper Rule will effectively end the practice of
supplying drinking water to homes through toxic lead pipes that
have threatened the health and well-being of families in all 50
states for more than a century.
We’ll keep you updated on how to get
involved in the coming weeks — for now, read more about this ray
of hope to help provide safe drinking water nationwide. ( [link removed] )

(UAW) Strike Portends a Successful EV Transition: With the UAW

union workers signal that they will be a key part of the
industry’s shift to cleaner vehicles. Read more > ( [link removed] )

Electric vs. Gas Cars: Is It Cheaper to

* Protect Critically Endangered Rice’s Whales from Offshore
Drilling: ( [link removed] ) There are fewer than 100 critically endangered Rice’s whales
left in existence. Their narrow strip of habitat in the Gulf of
Mexico is in the crosshairs of the oil and gas industry, and we
must act now to stop the government from selling off our oceans.
