Texas GOP rejects ban on associating with Nazi sympathizers
By a 32-29 vote, the Texas GOP executive committee has voted against a measure that would ban Republicans from associating with Holocaust deniers and Nazi sympathizers, because, well, voting against sprawling swaths of your base and maybe even yourself is just bad politics, people. [RETWEET THAT!]

Biden EPA aims to slash the oil industry's climate-warming methane pollution
The oil industry has long leaked methane into the atmosphere, contributing to the greenhouse gasses that are warming the planet, exacerbating climate-related catastrophes. Now, finally, the Biden administration has issued strict new regulations to dramatically reduce that pollution in the next 15 years. The EPA estimates new rules will reduce methane emissions nearly 80% below what they were projected to be, and that will "prevent an estimated 58 million tons of methane emissions from 2024 to 2038." Stand by for apoplectic fits and alarmist tirades by climate change-denying Republicans in three... two... one...

COP28 president says there is "no science" behind demands for phase-out of fossil fuels
The president of COP28, Sultan Al Jaber, has claimed there is "no science" indicating that a phase-out of fossil fuels is needed to restrict global heating to 1.5C and that doing so would "take the world back into caves." It's not exactly the messaging 70,000 attendees at the world's preeminent confab on combating climate change might've expected to hear, but then you also wouldn't expect the president of that very conference to also be the frickin' CEO of one of the world's largest state-owned oil companies. Yeah, we know.

Ron DeSantis bashes Trump and teases plans to "supersede" Obamacare
Floundering presidential wannabe and part-time Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis took his usual, impotent pot shots at the serially indicted ex-president and GOP frontrunner before trotting out what we can only assume is some freshly tested political messaging designed to hide the fact that Republicans want to kick tens of millions of Americans off their healthcare should they reclaim the White House and take full control of Congress. DeSantis vowed to "supersede" the Affordable Care Act with "a better plan," but conveniently failed to lay out any specific details. Likely because there are none, but we digress.

Newly expelled George Santos vows revenge on his former Republican colleagues
Welp, that didn't take long. Habitual liar, professional fabulist, and now-former House Rep. George Santos is already making new headlines after 311 of his colleagues voted to expel him from Congress for violating many, many federal laws in his very brief time in office. Despite saying in an interview he would go "graciously," Santos took to the social network formerly known as Twitter over the weekend and immediately did the opposite, lashing out at former colleagues and laying out his revenge on New York-area members of the House who voted to expel him. It's just like in that famous poem he wrote under his pen name, Dylan Thomas: "Do not go gentle into that good night...Rage, rage against the dying of the light."

Speaker Johnson says he believes GOP has the votes for Biden impeachment inquiry
Despite months of digging that has produced zero evidence of wrongdoing, Speaker Johnson and his fellow ultra-conservative extremists in the House are vowing to move forward with a formal impeachment inquiry against President Biden and believe they have the votes to do so. House GOP conference chair Elise Stefanik laughably claimed the inquiry wouldn't be used as a partisan political tool, which is exactly what this fool's errand actually is. Good luck convincing voters otherwise, Elise!

Corporate jagoffs have no place in Congress
Chris Deluzio for Congress: Chris is running for reelection in one of the most competitive districts in the nation. His GOP extremist opponents have sided with corporate jagoffs over the American people. We can't let them win. Will you chip in today to flip the House blue and get America back on track?
