On December 31st we’re going to hit our final quarterly FEC deadline of the year. After that we are legally required to report out our fundraising numbers.

Every dollar we’ve raised will be public. Everyone will be watching. Our allies, our adversaries, potential endorsers, party committees, the media.

Besides the day we launched, this deadline is probably the most important day of the campaign so far.

If we put up a good number we’ll show that we’ve got a campaign strong enough to defeat Kari Lake and win back Arizona’s Senate seat. If we show any sign of weakness, Kari Lake, National Republicans, and the MAGA-right will pounce on us.

But hang on a minute. Put that aside for a second. Because right now, I want to talk to you about my decision to run in the first place.

When I made the decision to run for Senate in Arizona, it was to take back this seat from Kyrsten Sinema. Replace her vote in the Senate with someone who actually cares about the people of our state.

That was reason enough for me.

But Kari Lake is in the race now. The MAGA Queen. Someone who has no problem lying, spreading misinformation — even calling for her supporters to commit violence on behalf of Donald Trump.

I lived through January 6th. I heard the shouts from the mob while I was on the House floor, barricading the doors and helping my colleagues evacuate to safety. I know what Kari Lake means for our democracy.

So this final deadline — it’s not just about our fundraising. It’s not just about getting another vote in the Senate. It still is those things, but it’s about raising the money we need to win, and to defend our democracy from an existential threat.

That is a lot of pressure. Trust me… I’m feeling it. I expect you are, too. But you are not alone in this fight. I’m with you, and thousands of others are, too.

Right now, a lot of them are making donations. They’re hoping that you will join them. Because they know that is how we will win this race.

So please, I am asking you very humbly:

Can you contribute to our campaign today? Lots and lots of people adding donations is the only way we’ll hold the Senate. That’s how we’ll hit our goals ahead of this FEC deadline, and it’s how we’ll defeat Kari Lake once and for all.

There’s an old motto in the Marines: “First to Fight.” That always stuck with me. And you have my word: I’m not going to back down.

I am proud to be in this fight with you. Thank you for your continued support.

Semper Fi,

Ruben
