John, I have some surprising news.
Country musician Kid Rock recently attacked me by name live on the set of Sean Hannity’s Fox News show:
Now before you roll your eyes too hard (believe me, I did too when I saw this), consider this — Hannity’s show is one of the most-watched programs in cable news, with millions of viewers tuning in every night to watch.
They’re all taking their cues from Donald Trump with one goal — drag my name through the mud by any means necessary often enough to prevent me from winning this Senate race. Will you chip in $3 or a contribution of any amount to help my campaign respond?
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
Believe it or not, I’ve apparently been a personal target of Kid Rock’s for years — here is a picture we dug up where he’s with Don Jr. at one of Trump’s golf clubs in 2020, with a t-shirt caricaturing yours truly:
Look, I have a thick skin and what Kid Rock and Hannity said about me isn’t going to bother me personally, because the latest schoolyard insults aren’t what’s most important.
What’s most important is the concerted, coordinated effort between Donald Trump, his far-right celebrity friends, and the Fox News echo chamber to push out attacks on me one day after another to make me one of the MAGA movement’s most hated politicians in America.
And the sad truth is that it may be working.
And we have an election to win. There are real issues at stake. The extremely high cost of living and affordable housing. The climate crisis. Wages not keeping pace with inflation.
That’s what I want to talk about. Not more baseless far-right attacks. But we also can’t allow them to pick up steam online and in the media. This is especially true in California’s open primary in which Trump and I will be on the same ballot, along with his MAGA supporters down ballot.
So one last time, I’m personally asking:
Chip in any amount to our campaign to help me respond to Kid Rock, Sean Hannity, and Donald Trump’s attacks, and let’s win this Senate race for all of California.
Thanks,
Adam
