This is a longer email — but I hope you’ll read through to the end.

I fight every day as a representative to make life better for working families in MN-02 and across the country. We've made a great deal of progress since I was first elected in 2018, but our work is far from finished.

With House Republicans electing radical Speaker Mike Johnson — who has voted against marriage equality for families like mine and once compared being LGBTQ+ to bestiality and incest — it's clearer than ever that the GOP is too extreme to represent everyday Americans.

We need to take back the House next year, and holding my seat in MN-02 is critical to making that happen. But the National Republican Congressional Committee has named me a top target for 2024 because they see this swing district as a prime opportunity to swoop in and pick up another House seat.

But National Republicans don’t know what's best for Minnesota's 2nd District. They don't get why my wife, Cheryl, and I chose MN-02 as our home. They have never talked to the folks who live here over a beer at a local favorite bar to hear what's on their mind. They don't care to understand how important it is to my constituents that Social Security and Medicare are protected and our fundamental rights are upheld.

Republicans only want to win in MN-02 to expand their razor-thin House majority to get the votes to enact their extreme agenda. I refuse to stand by while national Republicans use my community as a pawn in their game for political power.

Already, we've seen Republicans launch attack after attack at our campaign. But this team has come together before to defeat Republican attacks, and we can do it again.
