The White House followed up after my meeting with Vice President Harris to share the Administration’s priorities for their second term—and it has me very excited to help keep America blue next election.

Before getting to the Administration’s priorities for its next term, I wanted to share something else that the White House passed along: the official photo of the meeting that I had with Vice President Harris:

Now let’s see what the administration has in store after the 2024 election—if we can help them and other Democratic candidates finish on top.

WHY VOTING MATTERS: WHAT MORE CAN BE DONE

Our work is not done. By electing leaders to Congress who will stand with us and not block progress, more can and will be done. Examples include:

• Roe v. Wade: What the Supreme Court took away, the U.S. Congress can put back in place. And when they do, President Joe Biden has said he will sign it into law.
  
  

• Voting Rights: Congress must pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and the Freedom to Vote Act – and when they do, President Joe Biden will sign it. 
  
  

• LGBTQI+ Rights: President Biden continues to call on the Senate to swiftly pass the Equality Act, legislation, which will provide long overdue federal civil rights protections to LGBTQI+ Americans and their families.
  
  

• Gun Safety: Congress must renew the assault weapons ban, expand background checks, and pass red flag laws. And when they do, President Biden has said he will sign it into law. 
  
  

• Immigration: 
  
  Immigration Reform: On Day 1, the Administration called on Congress to pass an immigration bill to create a safe, orderly, and humane immigration system that includes legal pathways, work authorizations, and addressing the root causes of migrations. The Administration continues to call on Congress to act.
  
  Dreamers: On Day 1, the Administration called on Congress to provide Dreamers a pathway to citizenship. While Congress has failed to act, the Biden-Harris Administration has taken significant measures to protect Dreamers. This includes, issuing regulations by the Department of Homeland Security to “preserve and fortify” DACA, fighting political opponents in court as they attempt to strip them of the only home they have ever known, and expanding access to health care for DACA recipients.

I’m excited about all the significant steps that the Biden-Harris Administration can take for mothers and others like us—not just in Texas, but across the country.

But that won’t happen unless we can make sure that the Administration has a second term, with majorities in both houses of Congress. We’re ready to lead that charge, and we need your help as a sustaining donor to do so.
