Hello, True Texans!

For the past 14 years, I always say I'm taking a political break in December.  It doesn't really happen, but at least I try!  This means there will be no more weekly newsletters until January, so be sure to pay attention to all the December events listed at the end of this email.  There's still a lot going on!  And if I don't see you at the Christmas party,

And speaking of that Christmas party... we need your RSVP so we can get a headcount to the caterers!

I hope you will join us! Dueling pianos is a super-fun, family-friendly, musical event with a lot of crowd participation. You will laugh and sing and enjoy the season with the best patriots on the planet! The more, the merrier!

And don't forget... we'll be naming our 2023 Scholarship Essay winners at the party!  We ended up with 26 entries!  That's a lot of reading and studying for our judges on some very complex economic topics (so much for that December break, right?), so stay tuned for the big announcement.  Thank you to all the great teens who entered!

  • Mark the True Texas Project Day of Action on your calendar now! On Jan 27, all across the state we will be hosting blockwalks and phone banking.  Learn how to blockwalk and phone bank at any TTP January meeting!  Our next How To video addresses this important topic!
  • Some of you still have runoff elections for the November races, which will be held Dec 9.
  • Our Williamson County satellite hosted our latest "Right Vs. ...Right?" forum on whether it's a good idea to include LGB in the GOP.  Listen in to this great conversation!

Last week after asking for feedback, I received this request:

I am from True Texas Project RGV in Harlingen. I am riled up about the Texas A&M's Board of Regents' upcoming December 8 formal appointment of Mark Welsh (supporter of leftist ideologies and endorser of idea of "white privilege") as President of Texas A&M University. To try to stop this, wouldn't it be beneficial to inform True Texas activists how to protest? I called Governor Abbott's office at 512 463-2000 but had to leave a message. I also sent him an email at https://gov.texas/apps/contact-us/opinion questioning his wisdom in appointing these kind of people to the Board of Regents and also why he was not speaking out, reminding him of the "intent" of the Texas law of not allowing DEI offices on public college and university campuses. I called the Board of Regents office, and a kind lady told me how to reach all of the board members. Vickie Spillers is the Executive Director who, if you request, forwards messages to every Board Member. Send a message to [email protected].

I think that was a great request.  Get on it, True Texans!
