As I write this, 10-month-old baby Kfir, his 4-year-old brother Ariel, and their mother, Shiri, are still missing.

Dear John,

As I write this, 10-month-old baby Kfir, his 4-year-old brother Ariel, and their mother, Shiri, are still missing.

What makes this statement controversial is that these innocent people are Israeli citizens who were kidnapped and are being held hostage by Hamas.

The media has somehow justified the brutal treatment of these innocent human beings simply because of their nationality.

It’s heartbreaking.

These red-headed children remind me of my own — also two red-headed boys who are close to the same age as Kfir and Ariel.

Learning about the death of any child — whether Israeli or Palestinian, white or black, born or preborn — makes my heart sick. We must remember that no matter your political beliefs, it is always tragically wrong to kill innocent humans.

Americans reading this: I beg you to take a moment to think about these victims.

These are children being held hostage whom the perpetrators have dehumanized as political bargaining chips. However, they are human beings with inherent dignity and worth.

My heart breaks when I think about a babbling 10-month-old, his active older brother, and his terrified mother. What is happening to them inside those dark tunnels?

Throughout history — with slavery, the Holocaust, and genocides around the world — we see the same thread: the killing of millions of innocent people is somehow justified when a society first dehumanizes its victims.

This callous contempt for human life has led to the tragic slaughter of over 63 million preborn children in America, and the deception is being repeated across college campuses, in the media, and through influencers and lawmakers.

We must not repeat the same tragedy. No matter where you stand, harming children is evil, cruel, and inhumane. It should never be allowed. That should never be controversial.

Ultimately, this tragedy is a reflection of how our world views and treats children.

Innocent children are being killed every single day at the expense of convenience, lifestyle preferences, or the situation of their conception.

Innocent children are the victims of wars, regimes, and political parties.

As a nation, we will be judged by how we treat our children. We must remember the humanity that unites us all.

If we can’t protect the weakest, who are we as a society?

I earnestly pray this war ends soon.

Every human life is precious, and every murder is a tragedy.

Pray for a secure and safe future, free of hatred and fear, for every child.

For Life,

Lila Rose
