Dear Friends,
I hope that you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. I personally appreciated the opportunity to reconnect with family and give thanks for our many daily blessings. I have also been hard at work meeting members of our local community to develop actionable solutions to the challenges we face.

I was honored to visit the Community and Economic Development Association of Cook County, Inc. (CEDA). CEDA is one of the largest, nonprofit Community Action Agencies in the country, serving more than 195,000 Cook County residents in the Second Congressional District. CEDA is a national leader for federally funded home weatherization and has invested significantly in job training for underserved communities.
IL-02 Veterans Roundtable

I am committed to getting our over 35,000 veterans in IL-02 the support and resources they deserve. It was an honor to meet with veterans and veteran service organizations to discuss strategies that will help our local veteran population. Our roundtable touched on topics such as veteran mental health, improving the GI Bill, and implementing the PACT Act to help veterans across our district get the health benefits they need.

Each day, UCAN confronts the devastating reality of our nation’s gun violence epidemic, working with the families of victims as a trusted community resource for gun violence prevention and intervention. I’m grateful for the work UCAN does to heal our communities. This year, I requested over $525,000 in federal funding to renovate UCAN's facility in Riverdale, Illinois.
