Commemorating World AIDS Day

Nozi Samela was 20 years old in 2005, six months pregnant with her first child, and incredibly overwhelmed. When she traveled to the local clinic in her native South Africa for her first prenatal care appointment, she was told that she was HIV-positive.

During this time, Samela was introduced to PEPFAR-funded organization mothers2mothers, which provided her with the support she needed to give birth to a healthy, HIV-negative baby boy.

This World AIDS Day, learn more about her story and PEPFAR's generational impact.
