BREAKING: George Santos just got expelled from Congress – after the House Ethics Committee found substantial evidence of his dishonesty, fraud, and corruption. [1]
We agree with today’s vote – and that George Santos is not fit to serve in Congress or represent our country. But John, we know Santos is just a symptom of our broken politics.
In order to stop the NEXT George Santos, Congress must pass the Freedom to Vote Act to help get secret, special interest money out of politics, hold rule-breakers accountable, and give “We the People” a bigger voice in our politics.
Sign the Petition: Today’s vote is a wake up call. Congress must seize this opportunity to get Big Money out of politics by passing the Freedom to Vote Act.
Expelling George Santos is a crucial step towards holding him accountable for his many wrongdoings. But the truth is, if we had stronger laws on the books we could’ve prevented this kind of corruption in the first place.
Congress must back up today’s vote by moving real reform forward. The Freedom to Vote Act would do just that – improving our campaign finance rules, limiting the corrupting influence of secret money in our elections, and overhauling the Federal Election Commission so they have the ability to enforce the rules. [2]
But right now, instead of working to fix the problem, congressional Republicans have been promoting their dangerous “ACE Act” – an extremist wish list of bills that would suppress our votes and give corrupt Big Money interests even more power in our elections.
John, that’s why you and I need to speak out NOW to support strong, lasting reform. Expelling George Santos is just the first step – Congress must take action to stop the next George Santos and make it clear that this kind of corruption is unacceptable.
We must seize this opportunity for accountability and reform. Add your name to demand Congress pass the Freedom to Vote Act to prevent this kind of corruption.
I hope I can count on you to speak up today, John.
Thanks for all you do,
