Follow us on Threads! No images? Click here ![]() ![]() John, Whether you’ve been with us for years or are new to the movement, we cannot thank you enough for supporting our work to protect people and nature as one. As a supporter, you know that Washington Conservation Action remains steadfast in our commitment to advancing racial justice, equity, and inclusion in our work with communities and within the organization. That’s why today, December 1, Washington Conservation Action will no longer be maintaining an online presence on social media platform ‘X’ (previously called ‘Twitter’). In addition to the drastic decline in engagement rates, the decision to end our association is based on numerous instances of hate speech and misinformation permitted on the platform, which fuels violence in our communities. As an organization that seeks to achieve racial equity and inclusion in every aspect of our work, our association with ‘X’ goes against this value. We hope supporters and organizations with similar values consider making this switch as well. So what happens next? Washington Conservation Action will be transferring our communications typically shared to ‘X’ to the ‘Instagram Threads’ platform instead! Make sure to follow us on our newest social media platform, Threads to keep up with our latest (more frequent) updates! We also have an exciting Threads event happening on December 14 so stay tuned for details! Thank you for your unwavering support! Zachary Pullin (he/him) |
