*Kitsap County welcomes new County Administrator*

Kitsap County Commissioners announce the appointment of Victoria (Torie) Brazitis as Kitsap County Administrator. She fills the position vacated after the July 2023 departure of Karen Goon, who served as administrator since September 2014. Torie begins her job with Kitsap County on January 2, 2024.

The administrator is responsible for the management of county programs and services overseen by the Board of County Commissioners, serving as an advisor to the board and a liaison between departments and elected officials. The administrator leads strategic planning, budgeting, and policy development and implementation.

?The Board of Commissioners is delighted to welcome Torie to Kitsap County. Her depth of administrative experience and fresh perspective will provide guidance and oversight to ensure county departments maintain a high level of services, programs and resources,? said Commissioner Charlotte Garrido, chair of the Board of Commissioners. ?Her experience in customer communications, employee and constituent relationships, and policy and contract management will be valuable to the county.?

Torie is an experienced local government administrator. Most recently, she was employed as associate operating officer in the City of Seattle?s Department of Finance and Administrative Services, where she served as chief of staff for 260 employees with a $130 million operating budget. She directed policy and systems management, cross-divisional coordination and improvements, workforce reorganization and customer communications. Her 16 years of experience in local government administration, management, communication and policy development includes serving as assistant city of manager for the City of Bothell and senior transportation planner with King County Metro.

?I am honored by the chance to use my training and experience to serve the community I call home. I have been deeply impressed by Kitsap County?s public servants and the commitment we share to this place,? Torie said.

?I look forward to joining the county team shortly and doing my part to support implementation of the board?s vision and direction. Together, we will build on what works, listen well to adjust where needed, and communicate and collaborate effectively in offering important services in this ever-changing environment.?

Torie earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in government with honors from Franklin and Marshall College in Pennsylvania and a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Colorado Denver. She also completed the Northwest Women?s Leadership Academy of the Washington City/County Management Association. She is a long-time resident of Kitsap County who grew up in Hansville and attended North Kitsap public schools. She volunteers with the downtown Bremerton Kiwanis Club, the Peninsula Fruit Club and Bremerton School District.?
