A Month in Review: November 2023 Congressional Update

While we avoided yet another government shutdown, it must once again be clear that we avoided this shutdown only because House Democrats were unyielding in our fight against extremist, right-wing policies from my Conservative colleagues in the House.

Additionally, I wanted to let you know that you still have time to sign up for healthcare coverage in 2024. Open enrollment began on November 1st and runs through December 15. Because of the Inflation Reduction Act (which I proudly voted for), Americans can continue to get more help with their premiums, with 4 out of 5 people able to find plans for $10 or less per month according to the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services. In honor of Veterans Day, I spoke at the El Paso Electric Veterans Appreciation breakfast. Additionally, my office delivered Veterans Day cards from Anthony ISD, Ysleta ISD, and Socorro ISD around the community.

I’m grateful for your service to our country! It was a pleasure to share how I’m proudly working on your behalf in Congress.

The work our community has done to improve healthcare has made great strides, but it’s not done yet.

I was proud to present the Fox Family Foundation a Congressional Record for their incredible contributions to help launch the first comprehensive cancer center in West Texas.

My team attended the ribbon cutting ceremony for The Hospitals of Providence Children’s Hospital’s new Level IV Neonatal ICU and presented a certificate of special congressional recognition to commemorate the crucial work they continue to do for our community.

I had the privilege to meet with my 2023–24 Congressional Youth Advisory Council cohort.

Speaking with this session's highly qualified high school students from across El Paso makes me so hopeful for our future.

Earlier this month, members of my team joined Spoon Flower Grocery to celebrate their grand opening.

Their collaborations with local farmers in our region means more El Pasoans will have access to fresh and organic produce.

My team joined the Eden Event Center to present a certificate of special congressional recognition for their grand opening.
