George Santos has been a national embarrassment since the day he was elected. An hour ago, I voted to expel him from the House. The record of petty crime, lies, and serious felonies was too much for 105 Republicans who joined with Democrats to expel Santos.

It's a sad day for the House that 114 Republicans were so desperate to hold onto this seat they were willing to ignore the clear record of wrongdoing and keep George Santos in Congress.

Now, the people of New York's 3rd Congressional District can elect an honest and committed representative to serve their interests. I'm proud to be supporting my former colleague Tom Suozzi in this special election.
