Your input is important: Engage with us on affordable housing
The Washington State Department of Commerce is proud to highlight these outreach periods and public meetings for affordable housing stakeholders to present input in December and January.
Reminder: Affordable housing program loan and grant policy available for public comment
Commerce conducted an extensive review of the loan and grant policy for our affordable housing programs through a series of Policy Advisory Team (PAT) and stakeholder engagements over the last six years.? At a joint meeting of the PAT and Affordable Housing Advisory Board in October, we outlined elements of the updated policy and announced that it would be released for a final public comment opportunity.
When implemented, this policy will be applied to all new and future affordable housing contracts, beginning with those awarded funding from the 2023-25 biennial capital budget (including direct appropriations). Current contractors and pre-contract awardees may submit a request to modify their loan terms, which will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
