Jack, I don't need to tell you that these are precarious times. With wars, conflicts, and authoritarianism escalating across the globe, effective nuclear arms control and non-proliferation measures are our best defense against cataclysmic destruction.

In the coming days, global powers will deliberate on the future of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW)—also called the Nuclear Weapon Ban Treaty.
The Nuclear Weapon Ban Treaty is the first comprehensive international prohibition of nuclear weapons that rejects any form of reliance on nuclear weapons for security. In 2022, more than 80 countries reportedly called for the implementation of TPNW "with the aim of further stigmatizing and delegitimizing nuclear weapons and steadily building a robust global peremptory norm against them."
Nuclear weapons can never be legitimate tools of war. Despite opposition from the U.S. and other nuclear-armed states, the TPNW's adoption represents the global community's desire for a future free from nuclear weapon proliferation.
As nations gather to decide the fate of nuclear weaponry, we must amplify the call to put weapons down and embrace collaborative measures for the future of humanity.
Sign the petition: Embrace peace, demand nuclear arms control for humanity's future.
