This is tough for me to write – but I had to reach out to you. Two years ago, one of my close friends survived the Oxford High School mass shooting. But four of his peers didn’t. And in the two years since the slaughter, our legislators have continued to sit idly by while more and more Americans of all ages live through these tragedies. On the morning of November 30th, 2021, the unimaginable happened:

A fifteen-year-old shooter armed with a military-grade weapon stormed Oxford High School in Oxford, Michigan, and stole the lives of 4 innocent students – and wounded 7 other students and educators.

It has been two years since this tragedy.

But in those two years, students across the country have been subjected to countless mass shootings tearing their schools apart, and in 2023 alone:

… 3 innocent students were killed and 5 more were wounded at Michigan State University

... 3 elementary students and 3 educators were massacred at a Nashville private school

… 2 attendees were stolen and 17 more were wounded at a high school graduation ceremony in Richmond, VA

... 5 young people were wounded at Morgan State University's Homecoming celebrations

…And so many more tragedies played out at school campuses of all kinds across the country.

When will enough be enough? That’s why I’m calling on 500 gun safety champions to join me before midnight and PROVE to our legislators that Americans want an end to mass shootings IMMEDIATELY. I know exactly what these massacres can do to a community.

When my cousin and best friend, Alex, was murdered at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in 2018, it tore the Parkland community – and my family – apart.

So I need you to make a crucial choice in this moment:

Either we can sit back, let the gun lobby and the politicians they back continue to block meaningful action, and watch these massacres continue…

Or we can band together right now, support gun safety candidates and leaders, and prove we have what it takes to put a stop to the bloodshed.

Because the truth is, if it can happen in Oxford, Chapel Hill, Nashville, Baltimore, and Parkland – it can happen ANYWHERE.
