The latest on what's happening with right-of-center women Weekly Wrap December 1, 2023 This Week's Highlights Monday Rep. Michelle Steel (CA-45), whose parents fled Communism in North Korea, blasted President Biden's "policy of delusional placation" with China. In her op-ed, Steel points out: "Historically, the CCP has come to the table when their economy is weak. Biden had the opportunity to show strength and demand real change from the regime. Instead, Xi got exactly what he wanted from this visit - pictures of San Francisco streets drenched in red and a warm, public greeting from Biden." Tuesday Last Tuesday, Rep. Celeste Maloy (UT-02) notched an impressive 23-point victory over her Democratic opponent in the special congressional election to replace former Rep. Chris Stewart. Maloy, who served as Stewart's chief legal counsel, was sworn in Tuesday and became the 5th woman to represent Utah in Congress. Wednesday Rep. Ashley Hinson (IA-02) participated in a roundtable with the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party focused on preventing American research from benefiting China. Over the last several months, she and her colleagues on the committee have been putting significant bipartisan pressure on the Biden administration on this issue. Thursday Rep. Young Kim (CA-40) led a bipartisan effort to call out UN Women -- an arm of the UN "dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women" -- for turning a blind eye to the atrocities carried out by Hamas, including against innocent women.
