Indivisibles,
BREAKING: Senate Republicans are already working to oppose a House bill on
crucial coronavirus response measures.
The bill, introduced last night, would make coronavirus testing free,
along with implementing paid emergency medical leave, extending
unemployment insurance, providing food assistance, and protecting
healthcare workers. All absolutely essential responses during a pandemic.
But just this morning, Mitch McConnell called this plan an “ideological
wish list.”
Let’s get this straight: McConnell is the one using his ideology to hold
the health and safety of millions of people hostage. And we can’t let him
get away with it.
We need you to do two things right now:
1. Call your two senators and tell them you support H.R.6201 (the
Families First Coronavirus Response Act). The bill hasn’t even passed
the House yet, and GOP senators are already working against it; we
need to make sure it passes in the House and that the Senate is ready
to pass it as soon as they receive it. There are literally lives on
the line. [ [link removed] ]Click here to connect directly to your senators' offices.
2. Donate to the Payback Project. We already knew Senate Republicans
aren’t interested in protecting their constituents -- but this is just
shameless. These senators are willing to block access to key health
resources during a pandemic because they’re too focused on protecting
corporations instead of people. It’s time for them to go -- and we
need your help to make it happen. [ [link removed] ]Click here to donate so we can
take back the Senate and continue all our crucial work this year.
Senate Republicans have proved to us again and again that they don’t care
about us -- and right now it’s more crucial than ever that we fight back.
Standing together and helping one another is the only way we’re going to
win (check out our [ [link removed] ]resource on building community during the
coronavirus to do just that). Thanks for being a part of it.
In solidarity,
Indivisible Team
