Let’s be honest: I’m not your typical candidate for Congress.
I’m not wealthy or well-connected. I come from a working-class family. My dad is a Vietnamese refugee. My mom immigrated here from Mexico.
And right now, I’m working a full-time job and running for Congress at the same time, all while pregnant with our first baby. A lot of candidates dedicate hours and hours every single day to calling up big donors and asking them for money. I don’t have the time or the luxury to do that.
